There are evenings that arrive like a doorway. This is one of them.
Doors and our signature Moksha Bazaar open at 4:30 PM — a vibrant marketplace of artisanal local vendors running the length of the evening. Music begins at 5:30 PM, opening close to home with beloved local artists Jashanpreet Kaur on vocals, accompanied by Nikhil Gowd on tabla.
From there, the sarod speaks: Pandit Soumik Datta, joined by Ustad Shahbaz Hussain on tabla, weaving a dialogue of masters. Two intermissions between sets leave ample time to eat from our food vendors (to be announced), shop the Bazaar, and mingle beneath the music of beloved local artists in the lobby.
The night closes with a legend: Ustad Tari Khan on tabla, accompanied on nagma with Kamaljeet Ahluwalia on the santoor — a finale carried by hands that have devoted lifetimes to this art.

Doors and the Moksha Bazaar open at 2:00 PM, our vibrant marketplace of artisanal local vendors, open through the afternoon. Music runs 3:00 to 7:00 PM, opening with Shri Muslim Shaggan — the jewel from Pakistan, grandson of the great Ghulam Hassan Shaggan — accompanied by the inimitable Ustad Shahbaz Hussain on tabla and virtuoso Pandit Pankaj Mishra on sarangi, a lineage carried across borders and generations in every note.
The afternoon closes with Pt. Shantanu Bhattacharyya , joined by his wife Durba Bhattacharyya and his daughter Mitra Bhattacharyya, masters of the Patiala Gharana, joined onstage by their students — a finale of vocal mastery and spiritual devotion, voices in communion across generations.

An intimate baithak, held by candlelight — where the room grows small and the music grows vast.
The evening opens with Dr. Tara Kannan on vocals, a rising disciple of Pt. Pradeep Natekar, Prof. Ojesh Pratap Singh, and Vidushi Pratima Tilak, accompanied by Kishan Prabhu on harmonium and Rigved Deshpande on tabla — a voice still finding its full bloom, luminous in the candlelight.
The night closes with its finale: Pt. Rupak Kulkarni, senior disciple of the legendary Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, on bansuri, accompanied by Jasmeet Chana, senior disciple of Ut. Sukhvinder Singh Pinky, on tabla — flute and rhythm in quiet, devotional conversation, as close as a room can get to the source of the tradition itself.

Mayil Mehfil is Third Space Music's monthly open mic series, held at our favourite neighbourhood spot, Mayil Coffee — a space built for anyone who's ever wanted to get up and share their talents. We begin the way we always do: with a tradition of vocal warmups led by Jashan, easing nerves before the mic opens up to everyone in the room.
From there, it's yours. Whether you're a student of classical music, love belting out Bollywood or pop, bring an instrument, or have a set of killer jokes to unleash — this is a room built for you to show up and be heard. Buy a ticket, sign up, and take your turn on stage alongside your neighbours and fellow artists.
